I use the WEDI waterproof system for my showers. What I like to tell my customers is that you want a system that offers 100% waterproofing.
What I really like about WEDI is that it offers easy to use building panels to create any type of shower desired. The panels come in a variety of thicknesses and each panel consists of a hard polystyrene core covered by a fiberglass mesh with a polymer modified resin cement. They are attached to the walls with special fasteners and washers, spaced every foot in the 16″ on-center studs. The corners and seams are applied and flashed with a special sealant, engineered for flexibility and waterproofing. Once assembled it is 100% waterproof.
What I like about the WEDI shower system is that it installs faster and is easier to create benches and shampoo cube or niches. They interlock into the WEDI shower pre-slopped pans which eliminate the old copper pans or vinyl liners which need a concrete slopped bed.
The end result is a shower both the contractor and the customer can be proud of.
