Here is a simple fireplace makeover using 6″ Shiplap planks.

I prepped the walls and started my layout from the floor to ceiling. The ceiling in this farmhouse was not level, so I wanted to make sure my scribed board at the top had enough material so it should not accentuate the difference.

I marked the studs and used my finish nailer to attach the planks. I also used construction adhesive on the back of the planks for a better job. Once the boards were attached I filled any holes with wood filler.

Once the filler dried, I lightly sanded the shiplap planks and painted with two coats of paint.
